          <em>. Version beta 1 is ready for your approval. And I believe it
will exceed your expectation! Some of the exciting features that you find within this
advanced toolset are summed up below. You can go over to the project site and </em>

the beta</em>

          <em>. </em>
        </p>
        <p>
          <em>One of the first areas that has been extended is deployment. Out of the box Visual
Studio 2010 is capable of retracting / redeploying your solution packages. The DevTools
provide X-Copy deployment and solution upgrades on top of that. Along with many other
deployment steps you have the tools you need to lower the round-trip time for small
changes in your codebase. Go to the site and check out the video! </em>
        </p>
        <p>
          <em>Next are some of the very exciting templates that you can use. One that I am particularly
happy with is the Sandboxed Visual Web Part. This template allows you full visual
design of a Web Part, while allowing it to be deployed into the solution sandbox (which
does not allow ASCX files to be deployed). With SharePoint Dev Tools you can, and
in a totally supported way! Also don't forget the Linq To SharePoint integrated template.
Just change one XML file and get your proxies regenerated immediately. No need to
leave your comfort zone. Think of it as an Office Business Application for SharePoint
Developers, and SDBA J. </em>
        </p>
        <p>
          <em>Finally there are numerous enhancements to the Visual Studio environment. For
instance, you can find the SharePoint tab on the Add Reference dialog. Prime Visual
Studio real-estate!”</em>

More info (in Dutch):

        <p>
          <em>“In de week van 2 tot 6 november wordt er in Amsterdam een IGNITE SharePoint 2010
“</em>

A new toolkit release! Some cool drag and drop features:
</p>
        <p>
          <em>“Other big news for this release is the introduction of comprehensive, WPF-compatible
drag-and-drop support for Silverlight! Although this support doesn't extend outside
the web browser (that would require changes to Silverlight itself), it enables full-fidelity
drag-and-drop experiences within the browser using the same API that WPF users are
already accustomed to. And if that wasn't enough, there are also a collection of drag-and-drop-friendly
"wrapper controls" for common scenarios (ex: <code>ListBox</code>, <code>TreeView</code>,
and <code>DataGrid</code>) that make it trivial to add support for drag-and-drop to
an existing control. Dragging and dropping within a control (to re-order items) or
between controls (to move items around) is now just a few lines of XAML away! (Note: <strong>No</strong> code
changes necessary!) But wait, there's more: There's also a wrapper for Charting's <code>DataPointSeries</code> that
enables drag-and-drop into and out of a live <code>Chart</code> control! This really
needs to be seen to be believed, so please visit the "Drag and Drop" page
of the </em>

        <p>
As you might know, I started working at <a href="http://www.wizzix.nl" target="_blank">WiZZiX</a> at
the beginning of this year. We are working on a new service oriented solution for
events &amp; activity planning and customer relationship management, based on SharePoint
technology and Silverlight 3. The first release is planned by the end of this year.
After that, more things to come complementing this concept. I´ll keep you posted!
</p>

        <p>
A lot is going on at WiZZiX these day. Therefore, we created a <a href="http://blog.wizzix.nl" target="_blank">corporate
weblog</a> (in Dutch), where we will expose our development as an organization and
the concepts we’re building. More information about our vision, pricing model and
future developments are coming soon… Check it out at <a href="http://blog.wizzix.nl">http://blog.wizzix.nl</a></p>
        <p>
As part of the new directions we’re going to, my colleague Jord just finished our
new corporate identity: a new logo and house style. Our website will follow, but we’re
happy with the results so far.

          <strong>Waarom SharePoint Application Pages?

opslaat.. ;)
